Ooty is well-known for its tourist attractions and Doddabetta Peak is at 2623 meters altitude above sea level. It stretches along the Nilgiris district, Ooty Kotagiri Road in Tamil Nadu, South India. Doddabetta Peak is the highest point and offers the perfect vantage points.

Doddabetta Peak is a 10 Kms short trekking distance from Ooty main town and around 8 kms from Ooty Bus Stand or Railway station. Arriving by foot at the highest point offers a different experience. Doddabetta Peak ranks the foremost position in terms of panoramic views and accessibility that it offers. The summit is a flattened curve.

Doddabetta Peak features dense forest area encompassing a collection of Sholas( moist broadleaf forest) and the rhododendron trees span the grassland and this includes sub-alpine shrubs flowering and herbal plants.

The uniqueness is its position that is at the Western and Eastern Ghats junction. The junction is referred to as the 4-Road intersection featuring traveling towards all the directions. On the intersection, hiring a private taxi drives you to the Peak or uphill so that you trek and burn few calories besides enjoying the spectacular sight of the entire region.
